    Principal's Message

I hope each family had an opportunity to enjoy the Thanksgiving break.  Now that we are in the month of December, we will have a few short weeks until the Winter break.

I wanted to take a moment to thank all the parents that visited Southern Middle School during American Education week as well as the parents that attended our November conferences.  If you have any questions regarding your child's progress at our school, please contact your child's teacher or guidance counselor.

I'd like to send a big thank you to our PTSO President, Mrs. Stacy Guess.  The Harlem Wizards basketball game was a successful community event with the support from parents, Mrs. Kelley Fisher, Mrs. Jenni Smith and Mrs. Stephanie Lawson  Thank you to all the parents and students that attended the game. We appreciate it!I wanted to thank all of the veteran’s that attended our third annual Veterans Appreciation Night facilitated by our student council at SMS.  We appreciate your service and dedication to our country.

Congratulations goes out to Mrs. Holly Long for earning the recognition by Shippensburg University as Teacher of the Year.  Mrs. Long continues to make connections with her students in her Family and Consumer Science classes.
