Dear Southern Community,
The Governor and Secretary of Education for Pennsylvania have announced that all schools will remain closed through the end of the 2019-2020 school year. Although we know this is for the health and safety of all, the news still greatly saddens us to not be working in person with our students and return to what we all know and love as school. Over the last several weeks, we have greatly appreciated the time and energy you have devoted to support your children during this time of virtual learning. Our commitment is for our teachers and administrators to continue to provide these quality distance learning opportunities for our students throughout the rest of the school year.
We know with this news comes many questions. Our administrators will continue to keep in close communication with all families regarding specific information related to your child’s education and previously scheduled events and activities. We are here to support you and maintain connections with all students and families during these stressful times. Together, we can do this!
We will continue to keep you informed of additional resources that may be of assistance to you or members of our Southern community during these challenging days.
We have posted a frequently asked questions document on the left side of the screen (https://www.sycsd.org/coronavirus), which will be updated as we receive additional information.
This website contains information on resources available for families that are experiencing needs for food assistance/reduction of income, and mental health resources. This website also contains information for those that would like to help/volunteer during this crisis.
On a regular basis, we will continue to update you as we receive information. Thank you for your continued support as we work together in the best interest and well-being of our entire Southern York Community during this trying time.
