THE COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS

In the face of the constantly changing landscape that is college admissions, the SHS Counseling Department understands that students and families are likely to receive a lot of information and requests to apply from colleges as early as the summer before senior year. While the application process can seem straight forward to start, there are several different ways and portals that students can use to apply for colleges and different schools also have different steps. SHS uses Naviance as part of the process in order to house all additional components (transcripts, letters of recommendation, evaluations) in one system that allows for transparency between the counseling office and families. Students and families can see every step of the process through Naviance, including when counselors send requisite items.
