Susquehannock High School’s new addition and the new back drive on the main campus will open at the start of the 2023-24 school year. The new back drive and traffic pattern changes were designed to separate bus traffic from other campus traffic and improve safety for the entire main campus. Both buses and passenger vehicles will now be able to provide students with door-side drop-off. Effective this year, only buses and authorized vehicles may use the new back drive. All other traffic must enter and exit via the main drive off of Fissels Church Road (by the school district sign). As there are significant traffic changes since last year, we ask that you carefully review the traffic pattern information posted below.
Beginning Wednesday, August 16, 2023, the following will be in effect:
-
All passenger vehicles dropping off students at Susquehannock High School only must enter and exit via the main campus drive off of Fissels Church Road. Vehicles should turn left at the Y and proceed to the high school. Susquehannock students must be dropped off at the high school’s front entrance. After dropping off students, vehicles must exit through the main drive. Parking for afternoon pick-up will be available in the lower lot by the field hockey field.
-
All passenger vehicles dropping off students at Southern Middle School only must enter and exit via the main campus drive off of Fissels Church Road. Vehicles should turn right at the Y and proceed to the middle school. Southern Middle School students must be dropped off at the middle school’s front entrance. After dropping off students, vehicles must exit through the main drive. Parking for afternoon pick-up will be available in the lower lot by the field hockey field.

All passenger vehicles dropping off students at both Southern Middle School and Susquehannock High School must enter and exit via the main campus drive off of Fissels Church Road. Vehicles should turn right at the Y and proceed to the middle school. Southern Middle School students must be dropped off at the middle school’s front entrance. After dropping off students, vehicles must exit through the main drive. Vehicles transporting students to both schools must drop off students at each school; for safety reasons, students will not be able to walk from one building to the other in the morning.
-
Susquehannock High School student drivers will be contacted by the high school to clarify the traffic changes and parking requirements.
-
During school hours, high school visitors should park in the parking lot located between the administration building and the stadium and enter the building through the first door next to the cafeteria (in the new addition).
-
All passenger vehicles dropping off students at Southern Elementary School must enter and exit via the main campus drive off of Fissels Church Road. Vehicles should turn left at the Y and proceed to the elementary school. Southern Elementary School students must be dropped off at the school’s front entrance. After dropping off students, vehicles must exit through the main drive. Afternoon pick-up will be located at the front of the school. Do not arrive for afternoon pick-up before 3:10 p.m. as you will not be able to line up before that time.
Please keep in mind that the construction and renovation project will continue at Susquehannock High School until the fall of 2024, and a new parking lot with additional spaces will not be completed until that time. As a result, there may be limited availability of parking on the main campus at times. We appreciate your understanding and patience. Together, we are all doing our part to ensure that our students, now and for many generations to come, have the best possible facilities to become career, college, and life-ready.
