Release of Student Names, Addresses, Phone Numbers

As a result of the Federal “No Child Left Behind Act of 2001,” school districts must supply, upon request, student directory information (name, address, and phone number, unless unlisted). The information may be given to military recruiters and higher institutions of learning. In addition, information is routinely given to graduation apparel companies, vocational and technical schools, and collegiate scholarship organizations.
Southern York County School District hereby gives notice that such information will be provided unless permission to release this information is denied. Parents or students (age 18 or older), who do not want this information released, should submit a request in writing to the Superintendent of Southern York County School District by September 16th of each school year.
