At SHS: Class President for six terms; member of yearbook and newspaper staff; named to National Honor Society; Co-captain of Warrior championship football team

After SHS: Graduated from Western Maryland College in 1962 with
commission as 2^nd Lieutenant in U.S. Army; combat assignments included tank platoon command and chopper battalion command in Viet Nam; commanded an aviation battalion in Panama; served as Inspector General for Army Intelligence and Security; ended distinguished 30-year career as a regional ROTC Chief of Staff; in “retirement” taught high school natural and social sciences; continued as an active SHS alumni organizing class activities; recipient of Southern York County School District Foundation Distinguished Leadership Award.
