PSAT/NMSQT (10TH & 11TH GRADE)
The PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) has several purposes. It provides practice for the SAT and can act as a qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program competitions and other scholarship programs. It also provides feedback to test takers to help prepare for the SAT including strengths/areas in need of growth and the ability to review each question from the exam with an explanation of why the answers are correct. The PSAT also offers insight into students’ likelihood to succeed in Advanced Placement Program (AP) courses.
The PSAT will be on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024 at 8:00 AM. Students must report to Susquehannock High School by 7:45 AM. The total testing time is approximately 3 hours. The PSAT/NMSQT is now digital and so students will need to bring their school-issued chromebook with a full charge on the day of the test! They can also bring an approved calculator, though the Blueblook platform will provide one on their chromebook. The PSAT exam fee for this year is $20. There is a fee waiver available for juniors eligible through the federal free/reduced lunch program (10th graders are not eligible). Students will be invoiced through MySchoolBucks in September.
