Facilities

The highly-skilled and award-winning Operations and Maintenance staff at Southern York County School District consists of approximately two dozen custodians, eight maintenance personnel, and numerous part-time substitutes. The staff demonstrates competency and pride by cleaning, maintaining, and securing our three elementary schools, middle school, high school, and grounds using the best practices in school facility management. The district has a proven history of maintaining and renovating its existing buildings and grounds and a strong commitment to an annual capital improvement program. A blend of contracted services and district maintenance personnel are utilized to maintain the facilities. 

The Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials (PASBO) recognizes school districts with outstanding operations in facility management.  Southern York County School District was awarded the Gold Award of Excellence in School Facilities in 2010, 2013, 2017, 2020, and 2023.  We are the only school district in Pennsylvania to earn the Gold Award five times.
