Act 153 of 2014 - Criminal Background Checks
Under Act 153 of 2014, everyone employed by or volunteering in a school district is required to obtain three clearances: the PA Child Abuse History Clearance, the PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and the FBI Criminal History Record. All clearances must be less than one year old when submitted. New clearances will need to be obtained prior to those current clearances expiring (five years from the date of issue).

PA Child Welfare Portal (Act 151 - PA Child Abuse)
Use this link to access the online Child Abuse clearance check. If you have not created an account in the past for this clearance, you will need to create an individual account prior to completing the information required to complete the clearance check.
IdentoGO Website for FBI Fingerprinting (Act 114 - FBI)
Use this link to register online for the FBI fingerprints. You will need the following service code to register for the Department of Education for school district employees and contractors: 1KG6XN
IdentoGO Fingerprint Locations Website
This site can be used to find local fingerprint locations within the IdentoGO system. When you register for the clearance, you will also be able to see the locations and choose a location and time for your appointment.
