Nestled in South Central Pennsylvania along the Maryland border, Southern York County School District provides a high-quality academic program for approximately 2,900 public school students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. We are recognized for our academic excellence and commitment to preparing students for the global workforce, and we are proud of our strong partnership with families and the community.

Our schools include:

• Elementary education (K-6) at Friendship, Southern, and Shrewsbury Elementary Schools.
• Intermediate education (7-8) at Southern Middle School.

Southern York County School District serves the residents of Shrewsbury Township, Codorus Township, Shrewsbury Borough, New Freedom Borough, Glen Rock Borough, and Railroad Borough - a geographic area spanning approximately 61 square miles and including a population of about 20,000.
