YCAL Career Exploration Programs
Each year the York County Alliance for Learning (YCAL) pairs up with businesses throughout York County to provide onsite career information and activities to high school students. Students have the opportunity to be in the workplace environment, meet and network with people in that specific career and get some hands-on learning experiences of typical job activities in their chosen field.
This year there are over 20 different career industries to explore! Cooperating businesses and programs are currently being finalized. You can view the most up-to-date information about the Career Exploration Programs at ycal.us.
The fall Career Exploration Programs have filled up! Students may still apply for some programs but may be on a waiting list with no guarantee of being able to participate this year.
Online applications for the spring Career Exploration Programs will be available starting
December 1 at
ycal.us. Students interested in exploring any of the careers listed below during the spring semester are encouraged to sign up early.

More programs are being added for the spring semester! Updates will be posted on
ycal.us as more information becomes available.
Most programs have limited seats, so apply early! Students in grades 10 (not all programs are offered for sophomores), 11 and 12 who are interested in one or more programs must complete an online application by the given due date. Some programs are held after school, usually 4 to 6 PM with a small meal provided by the sponsor, and some are one-day shadowing opportunities during the school day. Students must provide their own transportation to and from the location of the program. Attendance is required at all scheduled sessions.
