Dear Parents and Families,

We are excited to announce that enrollment is now open for incoming kindergarten students to Southern York County School District! Southern York County School District prides itself on its partnership with families and the community to provide a high-quality education and a safe and collaborative learning environment for all students. We are delighted to welcome you and your student to our Warrior family!

Enrollment is open for all children in our school district eligible to enter our kindergarten program in August 2025. You may enroll online through our district website (www.sycsd.org). Click Parent Portal\Sapphire\New Student Registration (bottom of page). If you prefer to pick up a paper enrollment packet, please visit one of our elementary schools during school hours. Please complete and submit the online or paper enrollment forms before March 31, 2025.

After submitting the enrollment forms, you and your child will receive an invitation to an in-person meeting with our kindergarten team later in the spring. In August, you will receive additional information including a classroom assignment, busing information, and an invitation to our Open House to visit your child’s new classroom.

Please note that Pennsylvania law requires all children to have completed the following immunizations before starting school. Please contact your physician to obtain a copy of your child’s immunization record. Your child may not be admitted to school until these requirements are met.

• 4 doses of tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis (one dose on or after 4th birthday)
• 4 doses of polio (4th dose on or after 4th birthday and at least 6 months after previous dose given)
• 2 doses of measles, mumps and rubella • 3 doses of hepatitis B given at properly spaced intervals
• 2 doses of varicella (chicken pox) or a history of immunity

Children who are five years old on or before August 31, 2025, are eligible for kindergarten admission for the 2025-2026 school year. If you feel your child is not ready for school, please contact your child’s building principal to discuss your concerns.
