Community Book Circle
Southern York County School District is thrilled to launch a Community Book Circle to encourage collaborative conversations in our community through author Joy Thomas Moore’s, The Power of Presence: Be a Voice in Your Child’s Ear Even When You’re Not with Them.
Join us for the kickoff and book signing with Joy Thomas Moore on March 4, followed by biweekly book circle discussions. Book circle conversations will focus on two to three chapters at a time. All sessions are scheduled from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and childcare will be available if needed. We are thrilled that Joy Thomas Moore will also be available to return for our closing celebration. We hope that you are able to join us for any or all of the sessions, please RSVP by completing this form.
Mind, Heart, Faith, Courage, Resources, Connectedness, and Values are the seven pillars explored in the book that every parent, grandparent, and significant adult in a child's life could use to be a positive influence.
The Power of Presence Book Circle is one of a series of public initiatives the District’s Community Awareness Committee is developing to increase outreach and nurture connections that strengthen ties in our community. The committee consists of a diverse group of stakeholders from the District, including students, parents, teachers, administration, board members, and community leaders.
