• Community Book Circle

Southern York County School District is thrilled to resume our Community Book Circle on January 27, to encourage collaborative conversations in our community through author Joy Thomas Moore’s, The Power of Presence: Be a Voice in Your Child’s Ear Even When You’re Not with Them.

Mind, Heart, Faith, Courage, Resources, Connectedness, and Values are the seven pillars explored in the book that every parent, grandparent, and significant adult in a child's life could use to be a positive influence.

The Power of Presence Book Circle is one of a series of public initiatives the District’s Community Awareness Committee is developing to increase outreach and nurture connections that strengthen ties in our community. The committee consists of a diverse group of stakeholders from the District, including students, parents, teachers, administration, board members, and community leaders.

We would also like to thank the Shrewsbury YMCA and Titanium Athletics for their previous offer to host a book circle discussion.
