Every three years, the Pennsylvania Department of Education requires school districts to complete a comprehensive plan used to ensure that all students are achieving at high levels. A draft of the 2024-2027 comprehensive plan
for Southern York County School District was presented to the Southern York County Board of School Directors at the board’s regular monthly meeting on January 18, 2024 and approved for public review. The proposed comprehensive plan is available for review on the district’s website. Comments on the proposed plan may be made by completing this form through Friday, February 16, 2024. The school board is expected to consider the draft for approval at the March 21, 2024 board meeting.
The proposed comprehensive planwas developed by a 46-member committee group including parents, staff members, administrators, school board members, and community members. The proposed plan outlines the district’s goals and the steps that will be taken to achieve these goals. It lays the groundwork for enhancing a K-12 educational system that fosters students’ career awareness and preparation. In addition, it focuses on meeting individual student needs and increasing achievement for all learners. Components of the comprehensive plan Southern York County School District’s comprehensive plan, once board approved and accepted by the state, will be valid for the 2024-25 school year through the 2026-27 school year.include: Preparation and planning, needs assessment, plan development, and other required reports.
