2013: Darryl Engler '65

At SHS: Concert Band; Marching Band; Orchestra; Junior and Senior Class plays; Pep Band; Dance Band; National Honor Society; active in community musical organizations

After SHS: Graduated from Ursinus College in 1969; began mathematics teaching career at Southern Middle School same year; named department chair in 1970; started technology department and named SYCSD Director of Computer Services; retired in 1999 leaving behind one of the premier computer curriculums in Pennsylvania; Organist at Trinity Church of Christ in Glen Rock; Director of Glen Rock Carolers; Director of White Rose Chorus; a director at York Little Theatre and SHS Music Theatre; Adjunct Instructor at Wilkes University; known to generations of students by his catch phrase, “Nothing’s Fair.”
