Mary Lou served as President of Southern York County School District Foundation during its 2002 reorganization and beyond; provided founding leadership for Southern York County Education Fund, and was SYCSD Foundation’s first business partner.
Duke Edsall and Randy Edsall
Duke and Randy recognized the need and potential for a “signature event” with dual purpose of creating an enduring funding source for athletic scholarships and alumni programs. They demonstrated their devotion to their alma mater by making it happen.
Jim and Hester Hemminger
Jim and Hester pioneered the concept of “endowed scholarship into perpetuity,” setting example for many others to follow. This is currently at the core of the Foundation’s strategic plan, ensuring its ongoing service capability.
New Freedom Lions Club
The New Freedom Lions Club established the model for partnerships with community organizations by using its fundraising potential and the Foundation’s Dollars for Scholars umbrella to assist over 200 graduates with the burden of continuing education.

Through his determination to create a perpetual funding stream, Glen Rock High School and its alumni will never be forgotten; his “grass-roots” method of fundraising has been adopted as a model for honorary and memorial endowments.
SHS All-Sports Boosters
SHS All-Sports Boosters created the model for Foundation-school organization partnership, consistently funding over 20 scholarships annually through self-initiated and partnered fund raising programs.
