Kindergarten Registration

We are excited to welcome families of incoming kindergarten students to Southern York County School District! We take great pride in our strong partnership with families, our safe and collaborative learning environment, and our commitment to providing a high-quality education for every student. We are delighted to have you and your student join our Warrior family!

Online Registration is now open on our District website for all children eligible to enter our kindergarten program in August 2026. You may also contact or visit the District Administration Building to pick up a paper enrollment packet between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.  Please complete either option before March 31, 2026.

Families who submit the enrollment forms before the March 31 deadline will receive an invitation to a spring in-person meeting with our kindergarten team. The Meet and Greet Dates are as follows:

• April 8, 2026: Southern Elementary School
• April 9, 2026: Friendship Elementary School
• April 16, 2026: Shrewsbury Elementary School

In August, you will receive additional information, including your student’s classroom assignment, busing information, and an invitation to our Open House to visit your child’s new classroom. 

To be eligible for kindergarten admission for the 2026-2027 school year, children must be five years old on or before August 31, 2026, and have a current record of Pennsylvania-required vaccinations. If you are unsure whether your child's immunizations are up to date, please contact your medical provider before submitting your child's enrollment. Your child may not be admitted to school until these requirements are met.

If you feel your child is not ready for school, please contact your child’s building principal to discuss your concerns.
