Glen Rock American Legion Riders Establish Scholarship for Susquehannock Students
The Glen Rock American Legion Riders recently established the “Glen Rock American Legion Riders Memorial Scholarship” to benefit a graduating Susquehannock High School senior.
At the September 20, 2018 Southern York County School District board of education meeting, members of the Glen Rock American Legion Riders presented a check in the amount of $5,161.59 for the scholarship fund. “We want to honor all service men and women in our local community who served and gave their lives to protect our country and our freedoms as well as honoring those solders, sailors, airmen, and marines who didn’t make it home,” Mr. Bill Laney, president of the Glen Rock American Legion Riders, said. “We formed the Austin L Grove American Legion Riders Memorial Scholarship Fund to help with the continued education for the children of these brave and selfless men and women.”
This scholarship will assist a graduating Susquehannock High School senior who is a child of a service member killed while on active duty, child of an active duty service member, or a child of a veteran. The club’s goal is to raise $10,000 to permanently endow this scholarship.
