FES Students Participate in Tales for Tails Reading Program
Mrs. Walker's 3rd grade class at Friendship Elementary participated in the Tales for Tails reading program in April at the York County SPCA. The students that attended had to read at least 26 days in the month of April in order to participate.
The SPCA of York County started the Tales for Tails program in 2018. The dogs are calm, quiet and attentive to the children. Some are relaxed enough to take naps.
While at the SPCA, students sat on blankets and read stories of their choice to the adoptable pups. “There were so many sweet faces ready to listen - furry and humans alike! It was an amazing experience of love and literacy for all involved,” said Mrs. Walker.
