Southern York County School District Foundation’s Distinguished Leadership Award
The Distinguished Leadership Award honors individuals and organizations whose actions or innovations advance the Foundation’s mission. The recognition is determined following nominations and a vote by the Foundation’s board of directors. Recipients are honored on a plaque in the Susquehannock High School Auditorium lobby.
The Krebs Family
In 2020, the Krebs Family endowed the Leroy E. Krebs Scholarship to celebrate his 100th birthday. Mr. Krebs was a principal at Susquehannock High School and fondly remembered for his service to Susquehannock High School.
Bryan Nicholson ‘98
In 2015, Bryan created the James Nicholson Memorial Scholarship in honor of his brother who passed away in 1998. This scholarship is awarded to a senior planning to major in a business-related field in college. He has continued to fund this scholarship annually.
Lynda Johnson Sheffer
Lynda dedicated her 42-year career at Head Start of York County to helping children and families with socio-economic hardships. The Lynda Johnson Sheffer Book Award assists graduating Susquehannock seniors who have overcome hardship to purchase books or other media in their first year of college or technical school. Endowment funding for this award has been provided by a grateful former Head Start student of Mrs. Sheffer.
Ravens Roost #116
The Ravens Roost #116 raises funds to support local charities and families in our community. Since 2015, they established a scholarship that assists students who have a history of volunteering and participation in student activities.
Through Bob’s leadership, the Class of 1958 has thrived as one of the SHS Alumni Association’s most cohesive class organizations. His affection for Susquehannock and his respect for its ideals have set a benchmark by example. He has honored many individuals by establishing scholarships. Mr. Wolf was a past recipient in 2010.
