Warrior Marching Band Places Ninth in Bands of America Competition

On October 9, at the University of Maryland, the Susquehannock Warriors Marching Band competed for the fourth time in Bands of America. This year ended up being their best year yet.

Up to this year, the Warrior Marching Band had yet to make the finals. The top 12 bands compete in the finals and this year the Warriors were selected to take the 12th spot. In the finals, the Warriors competed against other bands who were three times their size. While it is easy for intimidation to sneak in, the Warriors did not flinch and fought their way to ninth place.

After completing their incredible performance, the band received a standing ovation and were extremely excited about how well they had done. When they had arrived at the competition, they were not expecting to make the finals and yet there they were, not only in the finals, but scoring higher than other bands with many more musicians.

Chris Poole, the band director, and the members of the marching band now focus their efforts on the upcoming Cavalcade of Bands. Congratulations, Warriors, on a job well done!
