The Southern York County School District is excited to share that the school calendars for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 academic years were approved at the February 20, 2025 school board meeting. These calendars, crafted and recommended by the district’s calendar committee after careful review and consideration, are designed to balance the diverse needs of our students, families, and staff. Important dates of note for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years:

• For the 2025-26 school year, Tuesday, August 19, 2025, will be the first day of school for kindergarten through grade 9, and Wednesday, August 20, 2025, will be the first day of school for grades 10-12. Graduation for the Class of 2026 will be on Friday, May 29, 2026.

• For the 2026-27 school year, Tuesday, August 18, 2026, will be the first day of school for kindergarten through grade 9, and Wednesday, August 19, 2026, will be the first day of school for grades 10-12. Graduation for the Class of 2027 will be on Friday, May 28, 2027.

Please know that great thought and careful consideration went into the calendar recommendations. The calendar committee, comprised of staff, parents, and students, worked diligently to balance the needs of students, families, and staff. While it may not be possible to meet every need of every constituent, these calendars will best serve the needs of our district as a whole.
